Week 2: Your lunchbox is your secret weapon 🥗

Your lunchbox is your secret weapon

Hi Reader

Before we dive into this week’s topic, I wanted to share a couple of exciting bits of news from the last few days.

I was featured in a double-page spread in the Western Morning News, talking about sustainable health, weight, and why quick fixes so often fail.

And I was also live on BBC Radio Stoke, chatting about set weight point theory, and how we can work with our bodies rather than against them.

If you’d like to have a listen, you can catch the interview here on BBC Sounds👉 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002pgbl

Now, onto this week’s focus…

Let’s talk lunches

Last week I mentioned that over the next few weeks I’d be looking at simple ways to improve what we eat during the day, and today it’s all about lunch.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned (as both a chef and a health coach), it’s this:

Lunch success is all about preparation.
And your lunchbox? It’s your best friend.

When lunch is an afterthought, we tend to grab what’s quickest — often beige, ultra-processed, and not very satisfying. When lunch is planned, even loosely, everything feels easier.

You don’t need fancy recipes or hours in the kitchen — just a bit of forward thinking.

Why lunch matters more than we think

A balanced lunch can:

  • Keep blood sugar steadier through the afternoon
  • Reduce energy crashes and snack attacks
  • Support concentration, mood, and productivity
  • Make evening eating feel calmer and more intentional

Two easy, lunchbox-friendly ideas

A gentle challenge for this week

  • Choose one day to prep lunches in advance
  • Get your lunchbox out the night before
  • Aim for protein + veg + something satisfying

No perfection. Just a bit of intention.

Next week, I’ll be moving on to family-friendly evening meals — the kind that support your health and fit real life.

As always, if you’d like support making changes that actually stick, just hit reply or drop me a message. I’d love to help.

Have a lovely weekend,
Rebecca

P.S. If you enjoyed the radio interview or the newspaper feature, feel free to share them — and thank you, as always, for being part of this little corner of calm, realistic health
